Cooling for E6600

Hey guys I have a stock E6600 and a Asus P5N32-E SLI, I had some heat issues from the way the thermal paste was installed, I ordered some artic cool 5 going to install it soon. My question is will I see much difference If I go with a after market fan and finding something thats not too hard to install. I've looked at the zalman, but I am considering weather after market meets my needs or if stock will do fine. I have not done any OC at the moment, I am content with my performance maybe at the end of the year or later on in the pc's life. So what do you guys think?
 
I just noticed I put this in the wrong area could a administrator move this to cooling please?
 
Its really unnecessary to invest in a better heatsink if you're not overclocking.
 
Might over clock if mounting an after market fan is not too hard. I hear Zalman is good.
 
Get the Tuniq Tower 120, you can run very cool temps even if your not overclocking. Intel designs their chips to last around ten years, so overclocking to 1.55 Vcore will only knock 2-4 years off the lifespan. I upgrade my CPU every two years, so that gives me around four years left which at that point its time to sell it.
