Cooling for a 3770K

Hey all, I recently bought a 3770K as an upgrade from my Phenom II X4 955. I've got a 240mm rad cooling it now but temps hit high 70s/low 80s on P95.

I was thinking of adding a 200mm Phobya Xtreme to the front of my 600T. Do you think that would help lower my temps or would I be wasting money?
 
how much overclocked its your 3770k? you are only cooling your CPU with that Radiator? also what fans are you using..? its a thin 240mm radiator (240x27mm) or thick (240x38mm)..?

and of course the more radiators fans used the lower temp you will get but remember the more radiator you use the more strong pump you will need to move fast the liquid.
 
CPU is at 4.4GHz w/ 1.2V. CPU only loop with 1850RPM GTs in pull. It's an XSPC RS240 rad which is 35mm thick.
 
something should be really wrong or your chip its really hot.. how good its the airflow in your case and room temp? my cousing have a 3770k@4.6ghz 1.22V and the temps with p95 27.9 are in the range of 61C to 66C on the hottest core in a 23C room temp with a H100i Performance profile.. you are on custom WC you should be getting better temps or at least the same..
 
My room is unfortunately really warm, probably 77-80 F. I'm the farthest room from the air conditioner so my room gets incredibly toasty.

I've also got two 6950s pumping out quite a bit of heat.
 
in that case, the best i think would be add the 200mm radiator also add your gpus to the loop.. to reduce substantial the temps overall your system..

also if you are risky, you can delid your CPU and change the stock TIM used.. that will drop dramatically the temps on your CPU...
 
Ended up deliding and temps maxed out at 67 for 4.4. Bought the 200mm rad though because that was still a little high for my taste. Temps max out at like 55 now with my crazy high ambients. It's perfect :)
