Cooling fan broke. Need help.

Yesterday my brother started the computer and he heard many beeps from the computer. When he checked he saw that the heatsink fan wasnt working. He saw that there was alot of dust on the fan so he cleaned it. When he started again the fan was making noise. Then he opened the fan and messed and broke the wires.

It was a Vantec aeroflow heatsink and fan that came together in one package. Now can i get just a fan from bestbuy? Its a 80mm fan that i need to get. Which fan will work with this heatsink? I need to get it as soon as possible. thanks for the help.

You should just be able to go to BB or Fry's or similar and get another 80mm fan, the mounts are pretty standard, just make sure it's compatible with Socket A/462 whatever you're using.

A generic will work fine, or if you want to order another Vantec that's great too.
 
I got an antec 80 mm fan and it did not even fit. I doublechecked and the vantec fan is 60 mm. I checked for that size fan and there arent any.

I am thinking of getting the vantec aeroflow 2. Are there any better heatsink and fan that are for 30 dollars.
 
Looks like i have another possible problem. I ordered the fan from xoxide.com and they charged my credit card but then they told me they dont have the part in stock! are they tryin to rip me off? here is the letter.

Sounds to me like the last point isn't an option, but they are simply telling you what they will do if you change your order to something else. Which, as I understand it, is to remove your previous order since they can't supply it and immediately ship the replacement you choose.

Anyway, you people forgot the ghetto solution. d-: Solder the wires back on properly (or splice depending on where they are broken.) Lol. I'm sorry, I just had to say it though. You know me and my cheapness...
