Hey all,

I've had a 6800 gt 256mb from evga for a few years now and sadly its up and died on me. Ive been looking for replacements and found quite a few but what my biggest dilema is, is that i had a aquacomputer 6800 r.2 vga cooler on it and im looking to find a card that i can use with the cooler so i dont have to drop the cash on a new block. So far i think i found a replacement but im not sure if the block will fit it. What ive found is an evga 6800 GS 256. Not too many places seem to have em (and not too cheap either) but it looks like it might work but im wondering will my waterblock fit this card? Here is the site im looking to purchase it from if you need a reference picture http://www.priceguidenetwork.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=499

Also if this card will work, any place got it cheaper? I know beggars cant be choosers but i dont like getting ripped off. Now if this card doesnt work and i have to find a 6800 GT or 6800 Ultra, which both are designed with for this block, any references to where i might find one would also be appreciated.

Thanks

There are cards that come with waterblocks on them as stock. I think it was BFG or evga that I saw on newegg during my stint of putting up the weekly video card pricing guide.

Its bfg that you are thinking of. My problem is that i already have a cooler from my previous card and im wanting to re-use it if at all possible.

oh i forgot to mention that this is on an agp platform so thats what heightens my dilema more. i decided though to bite the bullet and get a 6800gs and give it a try. if nothing else if it doesnt work ill sell the block and get a new cooler that works with the gs. the one i decided on is a open box from pny that i found on newegg for cheap so ill give that a shot.

I'm not sure if this helps but I too have the PNY 6800GS AGP and I used a NV Silencer 5 rev3. Everything appears to be in exactly the same locations on the board compared to the GTs and Ultras I saw in all the cooler reviews.

Cool thanks, that helps some to at least know that im not the only one who thinks it looks close. As for the card from newegg......bust. DOA. Didnt even place the cooler on it to even try, though i probably should have at least tried, but it artifacted right after its own bios so i RMA'ed it. Getting a full refund for it too so its not all bad i guess. Ah well, guess i gotta find a new 6800 card to try. Again thanks though for the insight.

I managed to get one of the last ones that TigerDirect.com had. They still also have a "DiabloTek" model but it's wayyy overpriced at $239.99.
