Cooling an E8400

So here's what I got for my order

Pump - Alphacool Laing DDC pump 12V Pro

Cpu Block - Swiftech GTX

Rad - Swiftech MCR120

Tygon Tubing

Aqua Comp Aqua tube res


I will be adding a vid cooler later when I get my 8800 right now I still have a 7800gt at which time I will get a bigger rad

I do have two questions

1. Should I do a T line to fill the system and should it have a shut off valve on it?

2. As far as loop Pump->CPU->Rad-> Res-> Pump

I would be wary of running an 7800GT and an E8400 on a single radiator, but it should suffice for now.

To answer your questions:
1) It's totally up to you. I like Tlines more than reservoirs (cuts down on tubing clutter). I wouldn't go for a shut-off valve.

2) That's a perfect loop order. The order doesn't matter though, so use whichever order means you can use less tubing.

yeah man the 7800 will be on air with it's zalman fan til I pick out a vid card

Where is the best place for the t line..... like in between the res and the pump in the loop

You don't need a T-line if you use a res, unless you just want something to fill with. When using a res just fill to the res.

people who have bay reservoirs get lazy and decide to fill with a t-line instead of unscrewing the bay to fill it in the top.... yeah i was one of them too at one point

yes and has enough power to push through several blocks with no problem.
