Hi guys, recently my Thermaltake subzero cooler died on me. I'm looking to find a good cooler that can keep my athlon xp mobile 2500+ at 2.4ghz stable and quiet as well. All i see here though are threads on athlon 64's. I don't really feel like upgrading yet, so I'm just looking for some advice on a good air cooler for my cpu that will keep it cool, at 2.4ghz, and quiet.

Thanks

I had an XP-M 2500 (12@200fsb for 2.4 ghz) previously, and I cooled it with a Zalman CNPS7000a. I had an Asus A7N8X-E DLX, so I was able to use the Zalman as the board had the 4 holes for HSF mounting (most Socket A boards do not).

You could try the Thermalright SI-97 or the Swiftech Cooler. Both seem to be good, and they offer a choice of fans (i.e. get one by yourself, none included. Both recommend panaflo). If you have the mounting holes, there are some other options (Zalman, Thermaltake, etc...) as well.

Socket A coolers are rare items now, as the socket-a chips are now out of production.

ax-7 or any of the SI-9x series or any of the SLK series

Used a SLK900a and AX-7 on my 2600+ @ 2.6ghz
