micro review of the accelero twin turbo II.
have a evga vanilla gtx 670 the short pcb one. the stock heatsink and fan never gave me a problem but wanted to try the accelero.
install was straightforward. instead of using the accelero mix your own glue crap i re-used the thermal sticky pad on the orig heatsink and applied the smaller accelero heatsinks to the vrms. left the memory alone as i dont think they get that hot and they are right under the dual fans of the heatsink anyway.
stock temps were 34 idle and 72 under load
with accelero my idle is now 28 and running kombuster the highest it got was 59.
this is all with the accelero fan running at 75%
sound wise it is undetectable over my case fans i simply cannot hear it where i could hear the stock fan ramp up very easily. overall i am very pleased with this heatsink.
 
Good to hear, but do testing with something besides Kombuster. It doesnt stress the GPU enough to truely measure load temps.

Get Heaven by Unigen and turn Tess all the way to Extreme.
 
ran heaven max settings and load temp climbed to 56 at 30% fan which i cant hear. the stock cooler was decent but was loud when it would ramp up the fan.
 
Not bad temps at all. For reference, my 680 overclocked to 1290mhz on water is getting to 44*c, so 12*c hotter than water, and fans only at 30% is amazing!

Makes me wonder if I need to reapply the TIM on my 680. With an OC to 1200 in the same loop as my CPU it gets to around 50c.
 
It's the last pictured setup on this page. I have the pump set to full speed and all rads with a push config.

I7 2700k @4.5
GTX680 @ +125/+500

Your issue is your cooling surface area vs the heat. When I was running a 360mm rad, I was getting GPU temps up near 60*c with my 580. After adding another 240mm rad, my temps dropped to about 49-52*c.

Having the 360mm + 240mm rad on my 680 gets me the temps I posted earlier.

You cant compare the 5x120mm surface area of cooling I have to the 3x120mm surface area you have. By the looks of your case, you are limited in your radiator options and not much you can do about it. 50*c at load is still very decent.
 
Oh, one more thing... the fan on the top of your Sabertooth Z77 is upside down. That fan should be pushing air in to the thermal armor (the side of the fan with no sticker should be showing) while the fan back by the IO Plate should be pulling air out of the thermal armor (label side visible from the back of the case)

Thanks for the post back. I had no idea you had multiple rads going on of that size but that definitely accounts for the drops in degrees over my setup. That being said I am now content with my temps.

After what you said about the mobo fans I did a little research to double check since I followed the directions from Asus. Mine are installed correctly and even the pic on the Asus website has it the same way.

This was my first full blown loop and I am by far hooked. The aesthetics and lower temps make it so worth the investment.
 
Yep. Custom Water cooling is definitely addicting and only appeals to a fairly elite crowd. We are nuts to spend so much on our loops only for the sake of some cooler temps, but once you start you dont stop.

I have been watercooling for about 8 years total now, and back in the day, we used to have to use custom aquarium pumps and such since it wasnt as main stream as it is now.
