Hey all, well i got my 9700 AIW to finally work and notice that this thing runs HOT. Almost to hot to touch....

I was wondering what suggestion you might have to cool better. I was thinking about a VGA Silencer, but having problems finding out if this will fit my card. Anyone have changed their stock coolers on a AIW 9700? If so what did you use....thanks in advance.
 
The new Rev. 2 VGA Silencer fits the AIW models if I remember correctly. I think I saw the new revisions for sale at SVC.

that seems like your best bet. Heard great things about those coolers.

Well its between the VGA silencer and the Zalman heatpipe.
 
I have this cooler on my 9800 Pro (Rev 1) and it's very nice. There's a low/high setting for the fan, but I can't even hear the difference between the two over the other fans in my system. The high setting does seem to push out a noticable amount of hot air compared to the low setting. I'd definitely recommend it over the stock cooler.
 
So the Revision 1 of it fits the AIW cards?

Is it me or is this the hottest running card ever?

I touch the card on the top (top when its installed in a case) where the core is and its almost to hot to touch. Everyone else card run this hot?
 
I was wondering something too, when you guys installed this cooler, did you remove the shim that goes around the core?
