Hey im looking at the Cooler Master 900w ultimate i have been told this supply has a single rail even though it shows multiples on the label. IF thats the case it has a rating of 852w at 12 volts so it should be enough for a gtx 285 setup with a lot of other stuff running on a new core i7 build?

Does anyone know much about this supply or series of supplies? if this one isnt good what would you suggest? it seems to have better effeciency and as good of a current rating as most other 1000w units.

The Corsair 850W is probably the most highly recommended in this segment and
the PC P&C 750W at $80 (newegg MIR) is considered the "Best Bang for the Buck". :)

well im just going by the fact that ive been told this supply is a single rail at 71A that is listed as 4 rails. im not sure that is true though. If it is a single rail i should be able to run damn near anything i want and i can get this supply on special at my local frys for about 149.

The Silencer 750 is a better PSU than the TX850. The CWT PSH still has fairly high ripple on the +12V rail, even with Corsair's modifications.

Regardless of whether it's a single-rail or multi-rail design, that PSU can still handle just about anything you can throw at it. The amount of rails is essentially irrelevant when considering PSUs, since the likelihood of actually overloading a rail is extremely small so long as the PSU is actually adequate for the PC.

I have the UCP 900 and am running a I7 920 overclocked to 3.8 Ghz with 2 SLI-ed GTX260-216, 2HD and 8 fans without any problems. It's quiet and powerful. I like it.
