Any comments on this case?

I've been using budget casings that cost me < $30 for a bloody long time. I think its time to invest more money in a real case.

The Centurion 1 is selling for pretty cheap where I am and I would like to hear your opinions on it.

I read a review in Custom PC magazine that said it was quite good....But myself, I'd go for the wavemaster (which is quite a bit more pricey)

i posted a while back on a centurion case....they look nice inside... but are total shit.

go find some pictures of the insides and you'll see.

i will never buy a coolermaster case under $70 again

In short, its a piece of crap.
I built a system for one of my mates, and the intention was to use a centurion case as he liked the look of it. However, although it looks pretty good from a distance, its very flimsy and wouldnt sit squarely on the desk as the whole chassis wsa slightly bent. Its also a bit small and feels to lightweight. We ended up sending it back and changing it for a chieftec BX-01, which is an excellent case, and was about the same price, maybe £3-4 more but not much for a really nicely made, chunky case with nice features on.
If your looking for a budget case, look for a brand called Super Flower. My main rig is in a super flower crescent case, and its almost as good as the chieftec but cost me about about £10 less.

I'm going to be a little different and say that I like them. YES, they are not very sturdy. BUT if you're not moving them around every day or taking them to lan-parties then you should be fine. I've purchased 3 Centurion 1s, 2 Centurion 2s, and 1 Centurion 4. I personally like the Centurion 2 and 4 the best, though the inside chassis is identical across Centurion 1 through 4. Newegg has a great price on them.

Anyway, this is a niche product -- Coolmaster needed an entry level case and this is what they came up with. They seem 'flimsy' because they are purposely built out of a steel with a high zinc content in order to make them lighter. Of course, the primary purpose was that it was cheaper to build. Alot of the inside is stamped and has some sharp edges. But it is still very light and that's nice. And in the end, you get a light-weight, nice looking case with a brushed aluminum front panel. If you don't need to get in your case very often (less than once every few months), then I wouldn't hesitate to get one.

Just be careful not to cut yourself on the inside's sharp edges.

Hope this helps!
