CoolerMaster Aquagate Mini R120 too hot?

I have a coolermaster aquagate mini r120 cooling my opteron 165. 1.41v @ 2.6Ghz, it idles around 39-40C, and loads from 48-50C. I have a feeling that this is too hot for watercooling. Does anyone know if it is?

Boy that is hella hot. My Opteron 165 is running at 2.7ghz on 1.425v and it barely hits 30 on load. By the way, I'm using air cooling (Thermalright XP-120)

Do you have too much thermalpaste on there? Just a little dab is enough. Is it seated properly?

Its not watercooling its a gimick. Their no match for a decent air cooler such as the XP120 or similar.

Whats your case cooling?

Mine idles from 38-40 and there's no problems, it's just a warm processor. For watercooling though, that does seem hot though.

I have a R120 on a AMD 4000+ running 2.8Ghz @ 1.45v.

Idle temp = 44
Load temp = 63

This seemed high to me so I started readiung some performance reviews on the R120 and that appears to be on par with what other people are getting, although I was getting far lower temps with my 3200+ 2.63 @ 1.525v on air!?!?

Ok, after getting Oblivion and having some issues with it running with an overclock, I dropped down to stock speed for my 4000+ (2.4). Im still sitting @ 44c idle, but now Im breaking 71c when I play Oblivion for over 1 hour and I have to turn the game off for a few minutes to let the temp drop. :(

I have already added 2 additional 80mm intake fans, and I suppose could adjust the temp alarm higher, but that really sound like pushing it to me. I oc'ed my 3200+ like crazy (2.65 stable) on air and never reached those temps.

Im thinking of reseating my waterblock, although I really trust the expertise and skill of the tech that installed it, he was in a hurry and perhaps didn't take the time to lay the AS5 just right or something. I hear something as simple as that can make a big difference...

Any thoughts or comments (from anybody that actually read through that rather lenghty post)

Thanks,
Bloodgod42 :)

Edit: Nevermind, I figured out the problem. AiBooster (Asus provided oc prog) was auto-voltaging my cpu to 1.66v. :/ Once I manually dropped it to 1.35v it idles 2c cooler and max 10c cooler with the fan at lowest setting instead of high like I had it when I was getting 71c+.
