Well im getting ready to order a new system in the next few months (when sandy bridge re-releases), and im on the fence as to what card to get. Im looking at 560/570s.

There reference exhaust style cooler, which will keep the case cooler. Or there is the type with 2 or 3 fans and keeps the card cooler.

I dont really want a loud cooler, and as of now im going to stay on air cooling for the CPU, though considering the H70.

Id like to make this machine fairly quiet, and plan on putting the system inside a NZXT Phantom, so case through flow should be pretty good, but I will be mostly tunning some silent type fans at low RPMs.

What do you think? What type?

As long as you're running a single card, the gigabyte 3-fan style will be both quieter and cooler. In SLI though you will want the reference version. The stock GTX570 isn't particularly loud, just not as quiet as the non-reference card you've posted.
 
I will be SLI down the road. Maybe when the next gen cards come out, and a 2nd is dirt cheap. So i guess 2 reference style cards.
 
Ideally yes. The reason for this is that reference cards are shaped in such a manner that they can get more air when two of them are cramped next to each other. They also have more powerful fans which means that when in an intense heat environment they can still cool the card effectively. Typically coolers like the one above use quite slow fans which are very quiet for a single card, but run very hot in SLI configs even at max fan speed, because max fan speed isn't very much.

To be honest though, if you're waiting until the april re-release to order, check back and see what the prices are. Unless there are some price drops on the way nvidia-side, you will be much better off with two HD6950s than two GTX570s. They're no slower at 1920x1200, and actually slightly faster at 2560x1600 and higher. They're also currently a lot cheaper ($520, $480AR vs $670, $620AR).
 
Yeah, i will be checking back. I was just looking at overall performance for now, since for now ill run a single card. Maybe for a year, then add a 2nd.

I dont plan to buy many of the parts yet, though I will order a HDD, or DVD-RW etc when/if they go on a decent sale. Case etc. Thought the main components will wait till 1155 hits the shelves again. I should ordered my parts before they were recalled lol. At least then I wouldnt still be on my laptop.
