My Cooler Master V8 fan recently stopped working properly. The computer was in storage for a couple of months, and it was running great up until the day it went into storage. Now, however, its 120mm fan has been struggling to move. I've taken it apart, removed the stickers and all of the solder points are fine. The motor (slightly visible through the housing making up the fan's core) seems to be OK.
I can't figure out what's wrong with the little guy. Any ideas? It's also my understanding that if I can't get this fan to work, that any standard 120mm fan will do -- is that correct? I can just snag one from my case and put the cover plate on it and screw it in if that's the way it is.
