I'm trying to build a reasonably quiet PC to place on the desk near the monitor. How's this unit? I know a lot depends on what is going inside the case, but with 4 fans I'm thinking this will need a fan controller to help keep things under control. If it's "too loud" would Dynamat help? (I heard this will raise the temps and dosen't help that much :confused: ) Should I try some of those silicone fan isolaters? I know all this stuff helps, but is it necessary to keep this case queit. I wont be OCing. Thanks

dynamat is not even worth trying. if u wanna keep things quiet replace all of the stock fans on all of your components, CPU HSF, VGA HSF, mobo chipset fan FOR SURE. the rubber silencers for fans dont much at all, except make your fans look prettier.
 
How bout the controller? If I slow things down this should help, right? I'm not trying to go silent just not so loud the rig has to be on the floor.
 
I have almost the same case and its pretty quiet with every fan on the case at 7v... even the psu.

Also get a huge heatsink for your processor soo it takes less fan power to cool it down.
 
fan controllers are cool. i use one myself, during the day i max out all of the fans and they are still pretty quiet. at night i turn off all of my controlled fans - front 2 intakes, 1 top exhaust. and leave on my CPU fan. my rear exhaust fan is controlled through my PSU so its spins slowly most of the time. if you wanna have a good silent rig, dont buy shitty fans. only go for brand names and try to get nothing above 25db. get a PSU with a 120mm fan too. thatll help things out
 
I use a Cooler Master (this ) one. Note that the fans have only two wires (no speed control) and in mine, PSU wasn't sufficient to power NF 4 Ultra mb with a 3200+ Venice. Everything else in and out of the case is good. Fans are reasonably quite, but not super quiet (due to lack of speed control). I am talking about my case here... the one you have selected may be little different.
