Ok im build a new P4 (550) system & i dont plan on OCing it.

I do plan on keeping this system running 24/7 & having the system last me a good 3-4 years like my old one.

Im going to be moding the unit some make it like the NEO Power & putting in T connectors.

So here is my question what unit would be better Fortron Blue Storm 500W or the Cooler Master Real Power , noise will be a small factor as it will be on 24/7 & i dont want to hear it to much.

The HD & the PS will be making the most noise, as the case fans will be slientX's.

Any info or input would be great & if you think im over looking a unit that is around 100 bucks let me know please.

Fortron would be the best of the two, though ide go with an enermax "noisetaker" , its much quiter and better/on par quality.

check the forum here, i saw a link to that Fortron and a review.
Whatever site it was left a bad taste in my mouth and disuaded me from it.
I had my eye on it for awhile, the review was for the 400W version which
is pretty damn close to the same except passice PFC, but after seeing it,
I opted for an OCZ instead. They suggested people get the older 530w version
and that the bluestorm was a pretty imposter of their former quality.
Not knockin it myself but search for that thread if you can, before you buy.
peace

I've been wanting to see what they say about the 500w psu. I just see reviews for the 400w, but i could be wrong, but i'm thinking the 500w will be of a better quality.

i think im liking the cooler master because of the PFC: Active. & im going to be cutting off all the cables neways so them being presleved might be a probem for me.

What are the specs on your system? I've been in a psu bind myself and can't figure out which psu i wanna get. It's getting pretty frustrating see all the psus, trying to figure out the one that is going to run with my system, here are my specs.

Asus p4p800s-x
256mb pc3200 RAM ( upgrading to 512mb pc3200 ram within the month )
ATI Radeon 9800xt or Nvidia 6600GT or Nvidia 6800GT series card ( i'm still in the process of upgrading that )

wow, that's a pretty big improvement, here is my old system, compared to my new one.

Old:
Pentium 3 600mhz
Tekram mobo
196mb pc133
10gb Seagate hd
Riva TNT 2 32mb video
Sound Blaster Live value

New:

Pentium 4 3.0ghz HT

I'm busting my balls trying to get this system running smooth, with no lag. I feel like a noob on here sometimes asking so many questions. I dont plan on overclocking this system at all, but i am going to upgrade the ram and hd so.
