Cooler Master Hyper 6 problem on IC7-G

I just bought the Hyper 6 for my bro since he just got a 3.0 Prescott and Im having a small issue with it. The backplate that comes with the cooler rests on the transistors on the back side of the mobo.
After doing some searching on the net, it seems that people that reviewed the cooler still installed it on the IC7-MAX3 even though the backplate wasnt flush with the mobo.

I dont want to take a chance with my bros mobo. I could cut away some of the backplate, but if I dont have to why bother.

Has anyone else run into the same problem with this cooler???
