Can anyone tell me if this PC Case is going to be noisy? Seeing how it have hole mesh everywhere and a 200mm side fan make it quite loud? I like how it look, I just order one from NewEgg since I really like the original Cosmo. Another reason I get it because it's now all Aluminum and have better cooling. I'm a little concern now since the measurement is quite big, and think I may be disappointed about the noise since my current Lian Li is so quiet right now. Anyone own one please let me know.

Thanks!

The testing done from some good sites indicate the level of the included 120 mm fan is not too noisy and the heat issue of the older version of this case has been reduced as well. The fans are moving slowly so the sound is not as noticeable, but you will hear it if the case is close to you. Not too distracting in my opinion.

200 mm 150 CFM fan is also not very loud since the speed is about 900 rpms if I'm correct, which is not much of a speed, but the larger fan does produce lots of air onto the CPU, motherboard, etc reducing the temps

The case is on a plane right now to my house.. ill let you know.

CM is advertising an "optional transparent window", anyone know where the hell I can buy that?

Not yet I don't, but I do not think it will have the 200 mm fan, just the clear window which may heat things up a bit again as the 1000 and 1010 models did.

I want the Transparent Side Window as well. E-Mail Cooler Master about it and haven't get a reply. The 200mm side fan seam useless, it advertised to run at 900RPM and it said to be noisy. I read somewhere on a Website Review someone measure it with a sound equipment when all the fan run at full speed and it was 45DBA . Also, I heard the Drive Cage door is crap now and it very tight fit unlike the original Cosmo. It seam like the Cosmo S is nothing like the Cosmo 1000 in term of silent. I think the Cosmo S is made to compete with the Antec 900 and for high end Gaming. I may have to return mine.

Read some of the links reviews I gave above and you will see that testing that was done gives the S model high marks except for the drive bay. 900 rpm on a 200 mm fan is good, and temps are very low considering the temps on the Cosmos 1000 or 1010 models. 900 rpm on such a large fan produces lots of air flow. 900 rpm on a 80 mm fan does not.

Noise was also good unless you are one of those that want a complete silent system, then you must go some where else.

Filter on the bottom p/s intake (back).

Filter on the bottom intake opposit side as well (front).

No others unless you install an aftermarket filter

Hexus Stated.

One of the big issues we had with the chassis during our testing was the noise. It was reminiscent of a a wind-tunnel, with matters not helped by the poor design of fan-equipped plastic side panel. Well, with that arrangement gone, noise levels should improve dramatically.

But there's no word yet whether Cooler Master will ship this panel within a pre-build chassis or if it will only be available as an optional extra - which would be a crying shame. News on that as and when we get it.

I would prefer it with the Transparent Side Panel Window. Not only it look sexier bring noise level down.

that's not a stock window. it even says in the product description that its a custom window...

The one thing I don't like about the case, is the PSU sitting at the bottom, unless it's sitting on the desk it's going to suck in every possible thing that gets under it, the filters only stop so much junk from getting in.

The fan can also be mounted facing upwards to exhaust air from the case.

Not that big of a deal. The power supply is sitting on a air filter that can be cleaned so nothing really dramatic should happen where one cannot just clean it often. Would never put it on a carpeted floor which would draw more junk up

My body has one, and he also has it on his floor. ;)

BUT he does not have it directly on the carpet, he has it sitting on plexiglass.....

What kind of after market filters would you suggest for the front intake? He was asking me for my suggestions....

I have heard from a friend who owns the Cosmo S that the case is a little bit noisy but nothing unbearable, the side fan makes no noise at all.
