Pro-Clockers has posted a review of the Cooler Master Centurion 5 II. To be honest, it doesn’t look too much different than the old Centurion 5 case but, for the price, it is hard to beat.

The newly released Centurion 5 II by Cooler Master, is a perfect example of trying to put all the functionality that one needs into a case, without ending up with something you'll having to spend your entire budget on in order to purchase. And yet even with the inclusion of all that functionality you are not losing out on any styling or grace. The Centurion 5 II is a very handsome case that will blend right in no matter what you are looking to build, be that a moderate gaming rig or just a simple office machine.

Everything I did not like about in the Centurion 5 has been fixed in this one. Looks like I will be getting a new case soon.

Too bad it can't fit any big GPUs such as the 5870. Looks decent otherwise.

Not bad for a budget case. I wouldn't expect it to fit a large graphics card considering it costs only $50, though other manufacturers have managed to make this happen. (Then again, who buys a cheap case with the expectation of putting in a $300-600 graphics card?)

Also, why doesn't [H] do case reviews? I'm sure you fellas can put together a standard test platform and set parameters for idle/load conditions.

Just a thought.

They've outdone themselves. I owned the original Centurian 5 and it was an amazing case. The few complaints that I did have (front USB and PSU locations) seem to have been corrected in this one. I wanted one of the ravens for my next build, but I might just have to go with one of these instead. The price is right.

If it's anything like the first one, I was able to fit my GTX295 just fine (although, I did have to shuffle some of my HDD's around). As long as the card is equal to or shorter than a 295, a large GPU shouldn't have any problems fitting.

Some of us do..

I'm actually disappointed in the Centurion 5 II. Below is a picture of my venerable Centurion 5, with a 5870 in it. It makes me sad that the new version is not as flexible. While I like the 90 degree rotation of the drive bays, I guess I would rather have room for a bigger card.

I guess I echo the thought that the CM690 II is the better case.

Sounds great! I heard a lot of good raves about this one. I think i really need to check this one out. Keep posting updates. Thanks!

As a former owner of the classic first generation Centurion 5, the only fix I would've really liked would be a removable hard drive cage. I didn't even use the 3.5" cage and felt all it did was limit the size of the intake fan and get in the way of larger video cards. Everything else is nice and sort of frosting on the top, but I'm not liking the front fascia as much as the original.
