thermal sensor installation? I've read the manual and review Cooler Master's website (it's the same) and I cannot figure out how to exactly attach the thermal sensor to whatever I'm trying to "sense". Yes, I know this is a noobish question, but before I do it, or mess up any of my hardware, I don't want to install the thermal sensors.

How do you attach it to your CPU Heatsink and make it stay? Thermal paste? Electrical Tape? Thermal Tape? What about the HDD, VGA Heatsink, and the case it self? Whats the best way to do this to get accurate readings?

Anyone know, or have knowlegde of proper installtion of the thermal sensors? Any tips/hints would help. Thanks!

If you plan to monitor the heatsink, I'd shove it through the fins, and position it as close to the core as possible. DO NOT put it between the heatsink and the CPU.

If you are monitoring the hard drive, find out where the hottest part is, and tape it to that spot with a small piece of tape.

If you're comfortable with it, and the sensor is meant for it, you can put it between the CPU and the socket. Just weave it between the pins and put it underneath the core.

Tt's sensor on the Volcano 9 is meant for that, but I don't use it because it automatically adjusts the fan speed, and I'm fine with temps that it isn't fine with.

Hmm yea the CPU thing I heard of, which doesn't sound bad at all.

As for the HDD, what kind of tape? Any tape? Electrical tape?

What about monitoring my video card and the case itself? Tape again? Any other ideas for the next 2 options?

CPU I'm fine on, I'll just put it between the core and the socket. It was meant to do that, according to Cooler Master's website.

Thanks for the tips,

any others would be highly appreciated. Getting my case tomorrow!
