Hey guys! First post. :D

First off, I'm impressed with the work here, especially the case galleries.

Alright, now the question: Has anyone used the Cooler Master STB-3T4-E1 in a non-Cooler Master case? The web site makes it sound like it would work, but I know Lian Li accessories never work on any other brand of cases, so I don't know if that would apply to Cooler Master, too.

It holds 4 drives. It has a 120mm fan. And it's cheap. I'm shopping around for a case suitable for 8 hard drives (possibly 12 in the future) and it looks like these converters are the most economical choice.

Thanks!

Yea, that will work in most ATX style cases.
I have that in the bottom of a case I use.
You just have to make sure you have enough depth in your case in order to avoid clearence issues.

Good luck.

That's awesome news.

I just ordered an Antec P180 today. The best feature of the case from the reviews I've read is that all the drives have a fan in front/behind them. This module looks like it would make a great complement. I just have to somehow install a grill in place of the drive bay covers. :p

I actually have mine just sitting behing the drive bay covers.
I havn't noticed any extra noise or less cooling because of it.

I also plan on making a replacement cover for the drive bays using mesh, just havn't gotten around to it yet.

I ordered 4 of those yesterday from NCIX I hope they show up need em for my new build..

I have found that they DO NOT work well for non-Coolermaster cases. I bought a couple to try in a Thermaltake Tsunami and a Lian Lin PCV1000. It would have to be jerry-rigged to work.

in Coolermasters defence Thermaltake chassis generally have fairly odd mountings .. I consider them to be quite loose in comparison to most. I can't say anything about Lian-Li stuff though.. I'll let you guys know what happens with mine when they arrive as I will be using them in a 25-bay server tower
