cooler cpu intel i7 930 for OC

Would you, please, recommend me a cpu cooler for Intel I7 930 / OC ?
Lets say, for about 70 USD.

Yeah, 60-65c acorss cores at full load. Idle is 30-35 across cores or so. Though I still have speedstep and C1E enabled so my CPU idles at 2.4GHz 0.95v. Load is 4.3GHz 1.35v.

Really? My i7 930 would push 80-86°C on my Zalman CNPS9900MAX at 4.0GHz. That was running Prime95. I also had speedstep and C1E enabled and idle was around 43°C give or take. Ambient temp was 72-74°F.

Here is a benchmark image I found, im sure it's pretty old though but it at least has both these coolers.

It suggests the Zalman 9900 perhaps isn't as great. My ambient temp from my readings is about 68F. In the summer it gets hotter, around 75F ambient as I use AC and temps get a little higher for those months. They peak at around 70c in Prime95 in warmer months.

I do have a dual fan push-pull config too. The Megahalems really excels with high-CFM fans.

That seems a bit high on the Zalman for a somewhat moderate OC on the 920... But I believe that was also the smaller version of mine. Anyway, not that it really matters or anything to me, but I'd say it's about right. Your setup must be a damn monster though. It looks huge in the image. I think that push pull combo you got going on there helps a lot too.

I'd say the cooler I used and linked to would work well. But I also think you might be a bit better off using maybe a Cooler Master 212 with push/pull. You've got two of us here that have the same CPU and used two different air coolers to give you a reference to go from. Sounds like SirMaster's setup works rather well.
 
Yeah, 3.8GHz isnt too hard to achieve with safe temps on about any decent cooler.
 
I had the evo 212 hyper on my i930 at 3.8mhz at 35c idle 65c full load. OC was pretty easy too.

Is there a difference, except gaming, with stock vs OC ?
 
Everything is theoretically faster when you overclock. The CPU litterally does the calculations faster. So for any task that is waiting on the CPU, overclocking is going to increase the performance. There are many, many non-gaming tasks that increase in speed.

There are too many variables for anyone to just say. If you have a HDD vs an SSD, how fast your RAM is, etc. These all affect whether your CPU will be the bottleneck for any given task.

Felt it would be appropriate to piggy back on this thread instead of starting a new one...

I currently have an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 PRO (here) on my i7-920 overclocked to 3.2 Ghz right now. It loads at low 70's, idle in the mid-30's.

Since it doesn't look like there is going to be anything worth upgrading to with Haswell, my plan is to spend $50-$70 and get a new cooler and then overclock to around 4.2Ghz, which will probably be way more bang for the buck then upgrading my mobo and CPU for Haswell.

So, currently looking at these:

Opinions about the Thermaltake? It's cheaper and comes with fans... If I go with the Megahalems, what fans do you recommend?
 
I am running my 930 with an old H50 cooler, will hit around 65ºc at 4.2 no problem. Of course, I haven't ran it like that for a few years because I like speed step and turbo enabled, so I keep it at 3.5 for normal running.
 
My Thermaltake Frio always kept my 930 under 70c at 3.8 with HT or 4.2 with no HT.
