cooler/card compatibility question

Hey all,

Got a question for ya. I have an EVGA 6800GT apg that ive had for about 2 years or so now. Its served me well and has run nice and cool with its aquacompter 6800 r.2 cooler. However the card has died and im looking for a replacement card. Unfortunately the 6800 GT and 6800 Ultra that the cooling block was designed for are no longer manufactured. Ive done a little searching and ive found a few sites have some EVGA 6800 GS 256 agp's in stock and they look as though they may fit the same cooling form factor that my cooler supports. My question is will this card work with my cooler. I really dont want to get another cooling block so im dead set on a 6800 so i need to know if this will work or if i have to track down a 6800 gt or ultra. Now if the gs doesnt work my other question is where might i track down a gt or ultra for a reasonable price (by reasonable i mean 250 or less if possible). The gs ive found for 244 at its cheapest so im looking for that range or better. If anyone has any insight on this i would be very greatful.
 
im debating on getting the card today. if it works ill use the cooler and if not ill just ebay the cooler or something and just use the card with a different cooler. Also i found another 6800 GS by pny at newegg for a bit less so im going that route. Though i love EVGA to death, im a poor starving college student so i gotta budget ya know.

If this works or not ill post the results in case anyone in the future would like to know.
 
Well bad news thus far, finally got the 6800 GS and its a DOA. Artifacted right after its own bios so that left me a little sad. Didnt bother to try with the other cooler on it. I was too frustrated at the time so i just RMA'ed it. Getting full refund so thats good i guess. Ill keep looking for another card to try. If any of you all know of any good deals, im all ears. Im still praying that i can use this vid card block but if worst comes to worst ill break down and get a 7800GS and just say forget it.
