Does the "detect optimal frequencies" in coolbits work differently for different cards?

On my 6800NU, it ran relatively quickly (15-30s) and came up with wildly inconsistant, low results.

The other day I was over at a friend's and he wanted me to show him how to OC his 5700U. Enabled coolbits and hit the optimal button and it ran for 5min and gave a nice OC (475/900 -> 521/1000) and gave the same results twice in a row. I didnt' really get around to pushing it any higher but this seems like a decent, safe & stable overclock.
 
yea, this thing can be very selective with cards. my old fx5200(CRAP) would detect anywhere from like 260 to 280 for the core and like 380 to 400 to mem. after tweakage i got it to like 310 core/420 mem. id check out rivatuner for better ocing.
 
Yeah, I too have had different results when I tried the "Detect Optimal Frequencies". I just played around with the timings and found the best results for me.
