Converting RM files to MPEG

I'm currently using IMTOO RM Converter, it does the job alright. My question is what do you guys use/suggest to do the job, i am a complete noob to converting files.

Also, is there 1 software out there that will convert every type of movie file to avi? Instead of having 10 different programs.

What's about imtoo dvd ripper platinum?
it can rip dvd to avi or mpeg encoder could sovle it
