Convert .avi / .mpg / .vob to .mp4 Help...

Alright, I just purchased a 30GB Ipod Video, and I have no idea on how to convert them to .mp4 format.

I have Nero and Alcohol 120% (As well as iTunes). Will any of them work for this, or do I need to get another program to rip them.

Any help would be great.. and be prepared for step-by-step requests.. :)

correct me if I am wrong but nero recode should do this without a hitch
 
Videora ipod converter is another great program that will do it for ya.

my motherboard came with WinDVD Creator 2. it seems to work great, and its real easy to use, and it was free!!!
 
You can also try iPod drop. Nice little utility I use for my ipod movies, just drag and drop the movie files on the .exe and it creates an .mp4 file for the ipod.
 
ATTN: everyone. after reading al of the posts i still can't seem to figure out how to conert videos from my digital camera or camcorder to mp4 format........i've tried that Videorra (sp) website and it won't let me download the program without paying the $29.99. i also tried Medicoder.com but all it does it is give me a list of othe websites to go to. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HOLD MY HAND AND WALK ME THROUGH THIS??? lmao........no but seriously!
