contrast ratio vs. brightness?

looking at the samsung 730B..(600:1 ratio.. 300nits brightness) and the NEC LCD1770GX that has 500:1 ratio n 400nits brightness..

which of these two would have the better picture? the NEC is the brightest one ive seen in specs.. i have it.. it is bright.. but i wanna kno about the Samsung (because it is 80$ cheaper lol.. kinda skimpin on the cash >_<..
