Brightness: 64
Contrast: 100

I'm using the standard 6500k Color setting

Turn them both down to around 55-60%, use the monitor buttons to turn them down, i've just received my monitor and did just that.
Just play around with at least 5% up or down till you find your perfect setting.:)

This LCD looks best when set to sRGB mode with a brightness setting of 20-30 (maybe higher in bright room). To get those black squares to appear you need to lower the contrast by using your video card display options. Same goes for gamma and color when calibrating.

Using the User, 9300k or 6500k default settings on the monitor doesn't produce a very good white and dark balance. Blacks get crushed below a brightness setting of 63. Contrast on the monitor needs be set very low for good white balance. Needless to say the monitor looks washed out except when using sRGB mode.

I seem to not be lucky with sRGB.mode as you mentioned.

My best settings are:
Color: 6500
Brightness: 64
Contrase: 64
..... then calibrated with a Pantone Pro

I may have done something wrong, but the results from sRGB were worse then the settings listed above.
