I have an XP Pro machine, an Intel 2200bg integrated wifi card, and a Broadcom integrated gigabit ethernet port. This is an Asus w1n notebook and my router is a Belkin Pre-N but the problem also occurred with a Belkin 54g router as well.

Up until today, XP was constantly "acquiring network address" but would still allow me to get online and would still give me an IP even though it would still say it was working on it. Now, however, it is CONSTANTLY trying to acquire the address on both the hardwire and wireless but it just won't fucking work. No internet, no LAN, nothing. This is driving me fucking insane...please help me out with this one.

I didn't install anything.

What I did, however, was hard connect to a customer's LAN while doing work there but it wouldn't assign me an IP as usual but I couldn't get on the Internet for the first time. The rest of the machines were fine.

I have tried assigning static IPs and there is no luck whatsoever.

I have no spyware, viruses, etc/

No fucking idea, lol.

I restored the router to factory and gave myself a static IP.
Still doesn't work with DHCP on my laptop but does on the other PCs on the network.
Weird.
