I tried contacting them through that form too, but they never responded twice. For a company that produces cases tuned to enthusiasts, they sure don't seem to care much about what customers say.
I say we boycott Lian Li from now on
. Lots of their cases suffer from resonance and poor cooling. The only reason why I still use them is because people request them or because they make one big enough.

What cases do you recommend instead of Lian-Li? I think you're the first person I've ever seen accusing Lian-Li of not being good.

Lian Li cases are made in quite a subpar way, the ones they send out for reviews seem to be hand picked because I´ve experienced sharp corners on one firsthand.
Also, the aluminium is thinner than that of the old coolermaster ATCS - cases (which were also cheaper), the resonance thing is also true.
That being said, they do have something going for them in the looks department, the style is just ageless and never gets dull. But I´d consider very carefully where the final case will be standing and if its placement warrants the extra cost of using a Lian Li case.

I have the V2100B and it suffers from poor cooling and resonance.
The resonance comes from the hard drive rack. It is too flimsy and isn't supported by rubber grommets. When I put three hard drives in one column and I don't stagger them in an odd design that is found through trial and error, the whole case has a very slow but wavering hum due to each hard drive spinning at a slightly different speed. Added with the fact that the whole side panel doesn't touch anything substantial in the middle of it, you get a really nice hum coming from a supposedly quiet computer.
Second, it suffers from poor cooling. There's a 120mm fan in the back to cool the cpu area and video card. The newer versions have a vga fan duct and have the 120mm fan oriented as an intake. So two design flaws there. First, there is not enough air going through that area. And please don't tell me I don't have a good cooling system. I am using water cooling with an external radiator and the videocard itself is enough to cause that chamber to get hot enough that my motherboard area can get to 60C and the space above the video card is a prime area that just traps heat and never lets it escape because there isn't a top vent. Second, even with the updated design, they are creating a wonderful short cut in air flow. Air gets sucked in the back and then exhausted in the back in nearly the same area. Lots of hot air circulation going on there. Hard drive chamber has a 120mm fan, but the fan isn't sealed to draw air from outside of the case. The only place that can be described as having decent airflow is the power supply area and that's a very slightly negative pressure chamber area. So it takes some of the air from the hard drives and some of the air from the motherboard area. With a seasonic it probably moves 15cfm of air. Not enough to make a dent in the trouble hot spots.
Honestly, the only good thing about a lian li is the outside finish. They make a nice flash animation of the airflow going through the case, but if you really look at it critically, you'll notice that none of the principals of having a case with good airflow is really followed. The resonance thing was a surprise for me. I have never had a single problem with resonance with any steel case filled with more than 5 hard drives. I've used the gamut from thick steel cases to flimsy ones. The aluminum "racks" are just about the flimsiest I've worked with and coupled that it is riveted to some larger aluminum panels that can wobble, it makes sense that resonance is a problem. I really thing aluminum isn't that great of a metal for cases if being light footed isn't even a consideration.

I have this case for my server too, and yeah I agree about the slow humming. It has two hard drives (both identical actually), both in the same column. It's quite annoying, but I had figured it was incurable without moving the server, since my chieftec full dragon case did the exact same thing (in fact, worse). And in that, there are two hard drive racks, and one hd was in one, and the other hd was in the other.
