For those of you who do not have a subscription to Consumer Reports, here are some highlights. Their rating is 0-100 with 100 the best. About 70-80 headphones are rated. It looks like most of them are in-ear. You can get a one month subscription to their dotcom for $5.95.


Grado SR80i: 86

Audio-Technica ATH-WS70 Solid Bass see here: 76

Sennheiser HD 518: 40 (am surprised by this low rating)

Sennheiser RS180 wireless: 80

Audio-Technica ATH-M10: 31

Consumer Reports reviews products for average people not audiophiles. Most of the headphones they reviewed are below $100 and the highest looks like $350. They have several sets rated 70 or higher for less than $50.
 
money should not play a factor when it comes to rating headphones.

thats like saying honda civic is better than ferrari because i cant afford one.

its stupid.
