I have Comcast cable running through a Linksys router, feeding into my two computers. As of a few days ago, my internet was 100% solid and speedy.
The past couple of days, I've been constantly losing my internet connection. I didn't do or change anything on my network. Every little while, I lose my connection and over the course of 5-10 minutes, I regain and lose my internet connection like, a hundred times.
My download speeds all drop to like 5 bytes/second, World of Warcraft disconnects, and web pages won't load.
I called Comcast and they told me to make sure my modem and my router were at least 2 feet apart. Ok, I have them 40 inches apart. That didn't work, so he told me to take my modem up to Comcast and exhange it. So today I got a brand-new modem.
Still getting disconnected. The only other possible problem is my router. Both computers are hardwired into the router with very expensive Cat6 cable, so I know it's not wireless interfearance.
I also have a Vonage box for my phone, but I tried completely unplugging it from the network and the problem still persisted.
I haven't done ANYTHING to my router! What the hell is going on?
