hello!

I just bought a pair of Logitech LS11 speakers

they make a constant noise (as a radio has no signal) when they are opened

the same thing happens with my earpieces (not connected to the speakers, but directly to the pc)

I would like to mention that i use a long audio cable that i connect it to the pc and then to the speakers/earpieces, also, i place the earpieces/speakers near a lamp and my monitor, if that info is helpful
why?

thanks!

Could be one of several things. If you're using the front-panel jacks on a case that could well be your problem. Front panels generally use shittily shielded cables. Could also be chittily shielded cables outside the case as well.

Try to hook the speakers into another source, phone / ipod and see if you get the same noise. If so, it's the jack on the computer that's bad, if not, it's the speakers.

hi ... so in my case (literally:() the front panel audio cable is really poorly sheilded

so if i have it plugged in i get noise on my speakers or headphones

I unplugged it .... I have a FiiO E9 i use with my headphones now (pretty nice...except had to break the glue (lol) holding volume knob on and use contact cleaner on volume pot which is cheap as hell and got noisy after a couple months...additionally i had to put a couple washers between volume knob and front panel as knob was scrapping the faceplate originally).

anyways this new arrangement.. XonarDG > FiiO E9 > (line out) Pioneer SA 710 works very well (no more noise)

UNLESS...my laptop is plugged in and a 3.5mm cable is hooked up to the headphone out (which goes to the Aux input on the Pioneer) ...blah blah as it turns out the laptop psu is cheap crap apparently and introduces noise into the audio out form my pc..

so if you have other stuff plugged in by your pc you may want to mess about trying unplugging various things one at a time and see if a nearby device is causing noise in the audio?

from personal expericence I thing likely cuprits are

FP audio ** (probably this)

maybe cable management issue inside the case ...some onboard audio solutions are really just prone to noise no matter what. if you are using onboard audio a $20~ (after rebates) Xonar DG is a nice improvement over most onboard audio.
