Console Port no signal

I have a cisco 2900 series router, I forgot the password and found no signal at consol port of my router terminal when I tried to recover the password. Any problem? I checked the wire and terminal, nop. Any one knows the reason? Thank you in advance.

What kind of cable are you using?

Verify the cable and also try different baud rates and make sure you have the correct serial settings. I've seen one dead console port before, it's rare but it can happen.
