Hi there,

I'm looking to build a Conroe SFF. Requirements are:

1. Conroe Core 2 Duo Support
2. PCI Slot
3. Shuttle-sized, mATX is too large and heavy

Does any one have any suggestions? The SD37P2 is the closest to what I want, but has no PCI slot... surely Shuttle isn't the only SFF game in town?

I really don't see much difference between a SG01e and a SD37p2 (shuttle P2 chasis)
Too heavy ? you'd be pretty much using the same components except for the PSU.

Otherwise right at this moment there are, none, nadda, zip, zero.

Well I've just gone from an SG01 to a Shuttle ST20G5 for my Athlon X2 4400 set-up. Why? It is half the volume and half the weight. It is also virtually silent whereas the SG01 set-up I had was far from it.

In terms of weight, the PSU is obviously far heavier but the SG01 itself and the cooler are behemoths in comparison to the Shuttle.

All of these plus points outweigh the obvious advantage of being able to swap components about, introduce new motherboards etc.

I suppose I will have to wait for Shuttle to come up with a Conroe motherboard with PCI slot, as they have done with the AM2 line. I'm just surprised that nobody is trying to effectively compete with them.

That's pretty much the jist of it. No announcements yet. Might be waiting for months.

SD12G5 would have been a perfect solution for me.
but that got canned.

Then there's the SD37G5 core2
Don't know when or where. . .
