Duvie really couldn't misinform anyone that can read. He comes off at best as a teen going threw puberty. His rude and inflametory posting style would only influence other people like himself . Most of whom have zero $$$ for high performance gaming machines.

He posted something on his desktop once with pics. You should have seen his desktop
I mean he had 80 icons on the desktop. This guy nows nothing about performance.

If Duby and Duvie were the same person . He would have to use a differant posting style than he uses at ATF . If he used the same style it would be a ban @ [H]

Really Icons use no memory to stay on your desktop and don't affect load times . or use other pc components. Thats why I like forums I can learn something new once and a while.
So a sluppy ass desktop does nothing but look horseshit.

I see your point and I to thought about it. But Duby stays in control of his emotions better. But they may very well be the same person. Donnie their is another poster in that thread I linked also who fits the description see if you can guess who I am talking about. This guy is even worse than Duvie.

I heard Intel is actually a front company for the CIA, and that Conroe is totally fake, just like the landing on the moon. :rolleyes:


People can believe what they want, but as far as I care / know, the benchmarks over at Xtremesys.org are perfectly acceptable / reliable. I am buying a conroe system, and that is that. I don't give a crap about an IMC or really anything else. I buy what is best for my budget, and what performs best at the time. Conroe performs. Also, I would much rather change motherboards to switch memory type, than have to buy a new motherboard and processor (read: AM2).

Like I have said a thousand times...hating on Intel just makes you look stupid. If you are so much smarter than those "noobs" at Intel, then go to college and become a Computer Engineer. Then, make your own processor company. Same goes for hating on AMD. The only time I might see justfiable bias is if you are a direct employee of either company.

Don't lose sleep over it, but please..for the love of god...stop spewing so much crap out of your mouths. It is really running this forum downhill. Remember, plenty of people read these forums and do not post because of this type of crap.

Why do you think I have such a low post count? Because half the threads around here are filled with smack talking 15 year old punks. Be glad I'm not a moderator. ;)

No not really .Here's what I posted.

To each his own i guess but a tidy desktop says something about how you view performance.

Notice how I state how you view performance. clutter is none performance look.

If you looked in side our cases the wire management and water tubes are perfect. Its hard to see the wiring . and the water lines look organized and neat. Keep in mind I come from a racing family . So looks and the lines of performance to me are probably differant than how you view things. I don't use the XP pro stock desktop. Not racey enough for me.
Its just a matter of neatness. To me well organized and classie looks go hand and hand with performance. On the other hand I have raced against cars that look like they couldn't get out of their own way and got my ass handed to me.

your inital claim was that an excess of icons on a desktop will slow your computer down. an inept statement.

now, if one were to have an excess of processes running the background, you would have grounds to make such a comment. otherwise, dont judge a book by its cover.

Look it does infact use more system resources. When we bench we don't have anything on the desktop including the wallpaper. and we set windows up for best performance . Sounds like to me you know more about this than microsoft debate this issue with them.

Come on enough please. Air flow threw the system means better cooling which equates to cooler components which leads to longer lifetime and possiably more stable higher O/C's.
 
the difference you will notice will be in the numbers you see in your benchmarks. and just how much resources do shortcuts take up? your effort is basically wasted, the only satisfaction you really have is that it does look neat.
 
1 point can be the differance in owning a WR bench. So getting that 1 point does infact matter. Enough all ready. You have basicly been owned leave it alone.

Very nice but I really have to question the system stability . I couldn't help but notice the 3Dmark scores were done lower clocks .

Not trying to say anything bad . But I hate drag racing 1/4 mile and shout her down before she blows. I like Daytona 500 miles of highspeed endurance racing .

YOU fail to understand the meaning of high performance. Getting everthing you can out of a system and remaining stable is what most enthusiast are about.

I couldn't help but notice in the end you also had to resort to insults. To bad.

I won't take the chance of getting this thread locked so I am closing this OT debate.
