I am wondering what cooling would be best for a chip like the E6600. I know conroe doesn't run very hot but with OCing i'm sure it would need an aftermarket cooler whether it be a fan or air/copper cooler I dunno which to get.

I have the giga DS3 board, and a nzxt lexa mid-tower case. This is my first build and assume installing one of these cooling items for the CPU would be easy if it fit and everything.

I've been looking at the ZALMAN CNPS9500 because its supposed to be a great cooler, its on sale, and it has a blue-led...which would look nice in my case that has blue led fans, a blue giga board, and psu with uv reactive blue.

go for it .Dont worry about it being easy or not , you sound determined and you will get it done. All the stuff is easy to fit , some HSF have more work than others but where there is a will there is a way.

The power reset leads might be a bit of a struggle but you get plugins for that on new boards so you should be fine. Also if you get a SATA hardrive make you stick only one power cable in it and not both cos it has two types you can plug in
