this is really for any dual core chip...

so the 975 chip set has 5 or more sata connections and can easily do RAID 5, but then your taking a hit on the CPU... what if you inload the RAID on to the second CPU?
anyone try this?
can this be done?
 
To the second CPU? There is only one CPU. There is two cores, but still only one CPU. And there is no way to do what you're thinking but the CPU performance impact of running RAID5 should be minimal at best.
