........that's just a e6300 oc'd to 3.2 Ghz... he just added the two speeds of the cores together... that's what "My Computer" does when you click Properties..... NOT 6.4 Ghz

i still really have no idea what proc is being bid on. is it just an overclocked E6300?

This auctioner has such a command of the Engrish language...I am so (not) impressed. A co-worker and myself have decided to enter into a business venture ourselves (custom builds), and we are trying very hard to come up with some ideas of de-bunking crap like this turd burglar has posted, but in a tactful way. It's very hard to sell computers on ebay, when people look at the price, regardless of what sort of mis-matched RAM, crap motherboard, and general misinformation is being listed. Part of the problem is that we don't want to attract flames from people like this buy (e-bay seller), to ruin our non-existant rep, before we even get the foot out the door. We can't link to crappy e-bay auctions, or put pictures of other people's horrid wiring jobs, and point out the flaws. We have to use words to defend our product's quality (build) over another guys stuff. Also, we are using actual photos of our builds, and not manufacturer's photos. When comparing ours to other peoples, the cabling and cleanliness of the build is way higher, but we're having a hard time formulating how to communicate that without getting the auctions shut down by E-Bay mods. Any ideas guys? Please help, we're trying to leave our current jobs to get this really going!!!

PS- Anyone else notice young asian pr0n, pirated Vista, and other stuff on his desktop? Wonderful....someone call M$...what a genius. The sad thing is, someone will buy this.

Things I noticed:

  • OC'ed 6300 x 2 (for each core)
  • Heatsink that is included isn't pictured
  • Heatsink is mounted wrong
  • Benchmarks is in 2.93Ghz
  • Claims it can beat the FX62 3 fold, but benchmarks doesn't show that
  • Adds his cores up, but doesn't add up the cores of compeditors
  • Pron in the background
  • Warez in the background
  • Spelling sucks
  • Claims the processor is so fast, and shows benchmarks, but doesn't add to this claim "I guranteed with you this motherboard combo will be faster than FX-62(fastest AMD at the moment) about 40%, faster than Intel Pentium D about 50%, and faster than Intel Pentium 4 about 80%. This mobo faster than my 8.4Ghz which is 4.2Ghz x 2 = 8.4Ghz about 35% to 40%."
  • Benchmarks are benching against lower end processors, not FX62's, QX6700's, etc.
  • FX62 is not the fastest AMD as he claims
  • The guy is Asian (just an observation)

Honesty, integrity, and quality work will get your business up and going, but it will be slow. For every one person you make a good impression on, they will tell one or two people. For every person you make a bad impression on, they will tell ten! The computer business is a very, very customer service oriented industry. About 90% of the clients you will sell to will know next to nothing about how to manage, maintain, and even use a computer. They just want it to work and they want it to work well. As someone who used to work for a computer company doing warehouse, I'll say this; It's not going to be easy. Companies like Newegg, Amazing, Tigerdirect, etc do tons and tons of volume, which in the computer industry, equates to more aggressive and competative pricing. This has really hurt the "mom and pop" shops around the country, though there are still many in existance.

Thanks for the uplifting words, we're giving it a run. It it is slow, as we expect it to be, initially, we'll do this on the side. The eventual hope is to be able to make this the full time business. It's hard to keep your mouth closed, when you see things like this going on, and knowing that someone will pull the trigger on it...really frustrating.

Sabregen, I am lead technician at a small shop in Portland OR. There is NO money in hardware as a small company. Most wholesalers prices are not much better than neweggs prices.
This is because of the bulk that newegg purchases.
We've figured it out, and we just won't build a computer that costs less than $1700, not including the monitor. at 1700 bucks, you can actually make a bit of money, using top tier components, and build a better computer than the giant competition (Dell, Compaq, whatever).
The money comes from support. We are 95 bucks an hour onsite, 45 bucks an hour in the shop. We also make money on servers.
The best deal for making money is building servers for small to medium businesses, and then having them contract you for support. We sell a server that is equal to or better than a dell server, for about 66% of what they do, and can still make a grand or two off of them. But, the real money comes in with setting up their domain, their exchange, their network, their VPN and remote shit, and then 95 bucks an hour keeping everyone in step.

I know about the margins, and I've working as an onsite tech for several years, I know exactly what we're up against. The thign of it is, I really want to steer clear of the service business. Yes, it's a challenge, yes, it's rewarding...it's also a major PITA. Thanks for your responses.
