I have 2 7970s in Crossfire right now and I am planning on getting a 1440p monitor, most likely the QNIX. Currently I am using a 1920x1080p monitor which only has VGA and DVI, which I use DVI. I have a third small monitor that I plan on using as well. The main card is a XFX Double D 7970 Black Edition, it has 2xMini-Displayports, 1xHDMI, 2xDVI(One Dual Link and One Single Link).

If I buy the QNIX that only has a DVI output to it, do I have to use an Active Mini-displayport to DVI? Or should I just get the QNIX that has a Displayport and get an Active Display port to DVI?

Always best to run native DP instead of using DP->DL DVI. Adapters can be pretty hit or miss. Also, get a VESA compliant DP cable. Accell makes good ones. Be warned that not all are. Even if they say they are.
