Connecting standalone DVD player to computer?

Just get a video card with S-video input (VIVO) in it.... and go S-video out from your DVD player vias S-video if you got it. -

and no that adapter wont do it, what that allows is a VGA connection OUT from your vid card to a RGB component.

i dont really like the windows interface for watching DVDs. It stutters when i lose my wireless internet connection, IMs pop up and all that gets annoying :)

i did about 6 months ago lol, but i traded it for a better single-disk version.

my TV pooped out on me so im looking for a cheap way to run my dvd player on my computer monitor
 
i hate to sound noobish here, but is there such a think as an s-video to VGA connector?

There are active converters out there., but it would be cheaper to buy a nec 3540a to watch dvds (and write them if you to). These would do what you want.

I don't understand why dvds would stutter when watching dvds. And the IM issue, you'd have when connecting a dvd player to your computer.

maybe i just 'ought to format. i've been having quite a few random issues lately :)

well not impossible, but that one click is just sooooooooooooooooooo hard :D Anyway i've planned to go with a projector for my dvd player instead of spending money on all sorts of connections to my PC monitor :)
 
u got good walls? can you cover your windows?

you can not do an "input" into your VGA port as VGA is made as an "output" port.

the IM window popping up would happen with anything and the wireless dropping you might want to check your router and format as u said.
 
Arent you still gonna have the same problems with stuff interrupting your viewing pleasure if you get something like that?
