I went out and got a HT in a box and I'm trying to figure out how to connect my PC to the Receiver. I did a DVI to HDMI to connect the Video card but I don't know how to get the sound working. Any ideas?

Some video card have a internal pass through to connector your audio to the video card. Then it will be sent through the hdmi. None of my cards have come with the cable though. You could also use optical or spdif coax and set the receiver to use that audio feed. Without knowing exactly what you have, I hope this helps somewhat.

Well, if your computer has an optical port for audio, then that would be perfect. Otherwise, you'll be limited to stereo sound.

Sorry about not giving specs but I'm away from the computer and unable to tell. I was thinking getting a sound card with a Toslink out would be the only answer but was hoping there was perhaps another way. What sound card would be the best to grab for doing this at the cheapest?

First of all, you need to tell us which video card, and motherboard you currently have. I find it strange since all motherboards in the last couple years come already with optical or coaxial outputs. And also, what receiver do you have?

You can go either way, digital or analog. Digital with a soundcard that supports DDL, or analog if your receiver has multichannel analog inputs.
