hi, i have comcast as my internet provider and i'm trying to connect multiple pc and ps3. Now the thing is on comcast modem there is just one connector. I bought Netgear ethernet switch GS605, but when i connect it i can only connect one pc even though it has 5 connections. Now am i doing this right or will i have to get router? If so, which one will work the best with comcast. thx

Any router should do. I can't recommend any one brand for reliability or anything, cause I just don't know.

I'm using a linksys wrt 310n running the dd-wrt firmware. works fine for me.

The modem only assigns ips when there is no Internet connection. Return the switch and buy a router like the others have said.
