Connecting Mini-Stero System to PC...

I got a little bored, and wanted to see if I could combine all of my electronics, namely my stereo system to the PC. I was able to get it inputted into the PC with no problem at all.

The problem that I have is, the speakers that came with the stero aren't self amplifying. I want these speakers to clone the channels from my 2.1 system. Is there anything I can do to boost the ouput? I know there are amplifiers available, but I have no idea what I need.

Help would be appreciated, and thanks in advance.
 
Does your stereo have an auxilary input or a line in? If it does, you could just buy a connector to the stereo. Depending on your soundcard, you can just use the rear channels (for stereo x2), or get a y-splitter for the audio out if you have a single jack. Stereos usually use RCA connectors too, so you'd probably have to buy a 1/8" jack to RCA adapter as well. Each converter/cable is like $5-7 at radio shack. Plug everything in and it should work.

Kinda hard to know without more details, but this should be the easiest way.

Edit: Saw the sig - If you're using the onboard sound, use the front for your 2.1 and the rear jack for the stereo.

Make sure the cable is stereo - there are mono 1/8" jacks to mono dual RCA cables too.
