Connecting Front 1394?

I have a SunTek Vivid case and an Asus A7N8X motherboard. I don't have any Firewire products so it didn't bother me that I didn't have 1394 connected to my motherboard. The motherboard came with the PCI slot extension and cables for two firewire ports. The PCI extension has one rectangular and one squarish 1394 interfaces (one big and one small).

Anyway as I said I didn't connect it. However, my case has had this one wire lying around in it since November (click for similar picture) and I don't know how to attach it to my motherboard? Does it go through an empty PCI slot from the case and plug into the PCI extension?

Sorry this isn't very clear but I don't know what to do with this wire.
Thanks for any help!

It probably goes back through one fo the PCI slot covers that should have a hole in it (from the case) and would plug into the motherboard firewire ports, if it had them.

Thanks for your reply, do all Front 1394 connectors work like this?

Most have headers that connect onto the motherboard internally...inside the computer. The type you have though are for computers with only firewire on the external ports, in the back, or a PCI add in card.
