Connecting exteral CD changer to computer?

Hi,

I was wondering if its possible to connect an external CD changer to my computer. I have a Harman Kardon FL8385 Cd changer (which has analog and digital audio jacks), as well as an HDA mytique 7.1 sound card (without the daughter card).

I would like to do this so i can utilize the equalizer on my computer to fine tune the sound before sending it back out to the speakers.

is there a program i can play sound coming in to my computer this way?

Any tips at all?

Well, you could do it over analog connections or get the daughter card and do it over digital. Just set the mic input to the right input, and mess with the equalizer.

But why do you want to change the tone of it? One would hope a decent sound engineer with a large budget for his listening room and good ears put the CD together, so why would you want to change it?

well, i have a warm-sounding receiver and warm-sounding speakers, so i need to brighten up the sound a bit :)

I'm pretty sure i understand the connection part, but how would i get it to play through windows?
 
Okay, then in that case it makes sense I guess.

The equalizer in the control panel should affect the output taken from the mic. Try setting it to something really drastic and see if it works. Set the "record" sound panel to take input from whatever you plug the cd player into (line in, mic, whatever).
