Im just wondering if anybody has had RMA experiences with Connect3D? If it even exists. 2-3 months ago my video card started giving me artifacts during gaming. I did every possible test to see that the video card was indeed dieing. I even put it in my new computer and ofcourse it still gave artifacts. So i tried setting up an RMA with them which took a month. I had to get their attention by going to the forums and having a moderator email their RMA department. I got my RMA number and sent in my bad video card. In the email they said as soon as they get my video card they will send out a replacement. Well they got the card a little over a month ago and i still havent recieved the replacement, and they again wont respond to the emails i send them. Ive also tried calling and there usually a busy signal or nobody answers. Im just wondering if i got a card from a bad company? And also wondering if anybody else has experiences with them.

a lot of ATI card companies are like that. When I had to deal with sapphire, when I called their tech support number, a machine said the number was invalid. I had to call their general number and get routed over to their tech support guy. I called them 3 times, and every single time, I got the same guy. I'm suspecting that Sapphire was cutting budget in the tech support department

Next card I went with... eVGA brand... amazing RMA. I'd recommend them. They got my friend's card out in 2 weeks when he RMA'd.

But back to the topic, I've heard of horror stories of people being graphic card-less for half a year waiting for an RMA. Get another card as an interim and stick with it for now. Sorry you had to experience such shitty service.

thanks for the reply

ive dealt with sapphire's RMA service and it was great. i had the replacement card within a week. although i do see what your saying to the support for ATI products. ive heard and witnessed mixed feelings on the ATI rma department, but NVIDIA's seems to be rock solid. i guess im clear outa luck if it takes 6 months or more to get a card back, its quite a shame.

im using a 7600GT and ehhh its not like my 1900 but it gets the job done. at this point im more worried about the money i spent on a card that i wont get back till its quite a few generations behind.

again thanks for your reply

It would be interesting if oyu got it back a few months from now and oyu were like WTH?!? because you forgot all about it.

It could always be a mailing issue.

haha i was thinking that same thing. it'll be a nice little dud surprise.

it can be a shipping issue. im contacting UPS later on today

alright so i found a phone number on the connect3d site but it was on the UK customer support page. it was a phone number to their san jose, ca office. phone rang 4 times and a nice cheery lady answered the phone. i told her my prob and she said that the person who handles rma's "conveniently" stepped out to their warehouse. she took down my name, phone number and rma number and they will get back to me asap. lets see how they hold to their word. its the first person ive talked to on the phone that works for connect3d. ima crossing my fingers

alright i just got a call back and im really excited, the person who contacted me was Ashkhan *i think thats how its spelled*. hes also the person who sent me the email giving me the RMA number. he said that the 1900xt 512MB that i had is no longer being made SO hes upgrading my video card to 1950XT 256MB and giving me a 2GB stick of ram DDR2 i believe. i dont need it but i can use it in a future server build.

i know 256 is indeed a bit of a downgrade but how much of a downgrade? im not up to date on video cards.

he also said they are shipping everything out today with next day shipping. all in all im impressed but it still took a while. its a certainly a comeback after waiting for a few months...

the X1950XT is on par with the X1900XTX, I should know :D
you are getting one hell of a deal there yah are

i just got the package in today. brand new RETAIL version in the box with shrink wrap still 1950XT video card. the broken card was a OEM btw. the RMA experience with connect3d has a bunch of mixed feelings.

it took 3 months to get somewhere with the RMA process, but when the problem was cleared up they got me my card within a day. im very pleased over all.

the stick of ram they gave me is Elixir PC2-4200U 4-4-4-4. no clue what the value of this is.
