Connect hardware to wired network

Hello

I'm currently working on a solution for a company, they ask me to build the next feature:
Connecting non company hardware to the wired network should be made impossible.

I'm not sure how I can achieve this so I'm thinking on a solution that connecting hardware is possible, but that it triggers an alert to the system administrators., is there any program that can help me with this?

Or does someone maybe has another idea of how to achieve this "security" feature?

Maybe there are some hardware solutions too, so I would like to hear them aswell.

Another means of port security is disabling unused ports and making sure a link down on a used port disables that port, too. This won't work for clients who get turned off and on regularly, though.
