Connect Both DVI and VGA?

The LCD i just bought came with two cables, one for DVI-D and one for VGA. My video card also has support for both connections, so does my monitor. Does hooking them both up at the same time result in a better picture quality? or is it unneccessary to hook both cables up?
 
I dunno about a burnt video card, but yes it will not do anything for you performance wise.

Dell has multiple inputs on their monitors as well, but allows for the user to switch between the inputs. Of course having both inputs connected to the same computer and switching between them wouldn't do you much good.
 
You could connect them both to have 2 desktops, but you can do that in windows anyway...

Connecting them bith shouldn't 'burn up your gpu' though

It sees it as multiple monitors. Tried it and that's exactly what it does.

now DVI output which looks so much better.

no gpu burn yet...

True, I thought about doing that once and using PIP and/or PBP, but that defeats the purpose of having all the real estate for me.
