Well, so far we know there will be a Barb and a Witch Doctor.... what do you think the other classes will be, or what would you like to see?

Personally I think it will go something like this (Duh!):

Holy Man/Woman (of some sort)
Class with Ranged attack (arrows or maybe even machines...)
A Magic User (or hybrid of some sort)

A hardcore Cleric might be interesting as this has never been done in Diablo (Paladin was closest). But, I am hoping for some variation in whatever they offer (like the Witch Doctor seems like a hybid between a Sorc and a Necro....).

Also, this is ineresting:

(D3) Item slots: helm, shoulders, gloves, body, pants, boots, belt, two rings, amulet.

I want some magic in my pants! And what is with the shoulders??...

I just wish more games would have left/right greaves/boots/gauntlets.

its not realistic for demons and undead to put enough thought into what they are carrying to have complete sets of everything.

Ahh, but maybe thats why you don't loot from every mob... that if you find a single awesome boot your character cant use the bonuses so just ignores it and leaves it on the stinking dead corpse. :D

There won't be a Necro becuase they said the Witchdoctor is 'like a Necro."

Obviously there will be a Rogue/Archer/Amazon type. Probably also a Paladin but they could go the evil rout and have a Death/Dark Knight or something. Also, you know there will be a Wizard/Sorcerer.

I'd agree with that. I hope there's a paladin/holy knight/whatever in the game. I had a couple of Pally builds in DII that I really enjoyed playing so I hope they incorporate that class (or one similar) in DIII.

I also enjoyed the Druid. That was another class that you could make into a couple of fun and effective builds (I personally liked wailing the crap outta everything as a werebear)

Yeah, the Pally was one of the best characters for multiplayer, but could easily go it alone (I had a Conviction/Vengence Pally that kicked butt!). The defensive Auras were also great against elemental attacks. I agree... hope to see something like the Pally in D3....

Werewolf with Feral rage was alot of fun, too. I don't think they'll go this route this time though, since the Druid was sort of a niche class...

I'm hoping for a Rogue/Amazon that looked just as cool as before. Also with the guided arrow that goes back and forth 100 times!

Most likely a Knight, Magician and a Rogue or Archer class

please please please bring back Assasin. I've played all classes for like 3-4 years with almost every item you can find until I just couldn't handle hacks and dupes. There were no point of spending countless hours finding better items when other people had 20 times or more better items then my hard earned legit items. Assasin was most fun class for me out of all for me.

There is obviously going to be a amazon/rogue class along with the Wizard/sorcerer class, as they were both in D1 and D2.

I also really liked (and would like to see a return of) the Assassin. That and the Amazon were my two favorite classes to play.

I dont think there will be any purist cleric class since every single class is also designed to be able to beat the game in hell mode single player. I am guessing if anything you may see some class combining. Such as Amazazon + Assassin = rogue that can specialize in either bows, traps, or claws. Anyway, all just some guessing. Lets hope they play to our nostalgia! in the mean time im going to keep playing D2... starting over with all deleted chars for the 10 billionth time.

I had 3 pally builds. Hammedin, Fanat, and a Cleric. The cleric was by far the best and most fun to play. Any game I got into for people actually questiong, I was the fing hero. No one died ;)

Full prayer, some points into Meditation and Cleansing (Would switch back and forth when needed), And some points into Holy Bolt: Can't remember the exact tree name, but I could shoot a bolt and heal some one for x amount of HP. I had tons of fun, and would love to do it again!

I for one will be dissapointed if they replace the necro with the witch doctor, I know they probably are because it makes no sense to have 2 classes that can summon but I loved my necro...And because of D2 Ive played that type of character in every RPG/MMO Ive played since.

RIP Necromancer

Im gonna load up D2 again and find my backup disk with my saved characters on it. I never liked playing on Bnet, I have a bunch of friends who played and we would just host our own games and play that way. Nothing better then playing a Necro with some Tal Rasha gear and 30+ minions on the screen.

I'm looking for the exact link right now, but in one of the blizzard questionnaires they states that the Witch Doctor didn't necessarily mean there wouldn't be a necromancer.

Personally, I wanna see the druid make a come back in Diablo ]I[.

Did anybody else notice that the Barbarian in Diablo III does not use Mana? The Witch Doctor has the blue Mana orb, but the Barbarian has a teal orb full of something else.

Hadn't actually noticed that before. Will have to go back and watch those again more closely.

In the "Official Diablo 3" thread, somewhere, someone posted a big long picture that had screen grabs of all the interesting stuff that dropped, happened, or was shown. One of the things that was shown, IIRC, was a barbarian skill that had a "Stamina" cost to "cast". I'd guess that that's the Barbarian's "Stamina" Orb. Kinda makes sense, if you think about it.

Here's the link: http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u263/fex_dominate/Diablo3.jpg
They call it a "Fury Bar" in the pic.

I wouldn't mind if they had a support class of sorts. A hunter/rogue/priest meld.
Some traps, stealth, healing/curing aspect. If you spec'd right you could hold your own, however with a group of friends, you could help them dominate. Toss up a trap and healing aura, or group stealth and such.

well the witchdoctor's summoning only shown what I call wall of the dead. This is not what a necro had. It seems that you get in a corner and summon these guys and then stand behind them not travel with them. Of course its hard to say with the poor display they did in the videos I saw.

I think Blizzard has to seriously reconsider what they are doing with some of the aspects they're trying to bring over from WoW.

There really isn't a need for Barbarians to opperate on a "Fury" system, although it does make sense to tack stamina drains on certain attacks. "Fury" will just complicate a part of the game that doesn't really need to be heavily improved on much, since the whole concept of "Mana" in the Diablo universe is different from WoW in that "Mana" itself is more of a concentration type thing (when you run out of "Mana," you are mentally fatigued) than the mystic and spiritual force found in WoW.

The inventory system doesn't need to be the slot style. Resident Evil 4 proved that even an action game can have an inventory management type situation and still be action packed.

Those damage indicators listed in the photos are completely irrelevant, since most players don't offhand know the number of hitpoints their target has; leaving the health bar for the enemy at the top of the screen as still the best source of information on damage. These also weren't found in the video of gameplay, so I hope it's already been scrapped by the developers.

I know this isn't my game to say what should be in the final product and what should not, but Blizzard seems content with trying to reinvent whole aspects of Diablo that weren't massive sources of squabble for either game.

Class discussion:
Death knight: Conviction style auras, life tap spell cast (since there is no real necro), super defensive, great AE damage, decent single target damage.

Thoughts?

I'd like to see a spiderman class. i mean, who doesn't love spiderman? freaking awesome..
