We, as a team, made 4mil yesterday, and our last 24 is still above 4 mil, so lets keep it up!

Congratulations for the 4 millions PPD. I do remember not long ago we celebrated the first 3 millions PPD.

 
The question is how long can we maintain it? I'm at 50k now, my 8 opterons came in today, and if I needed to could run another 45k but I'm not sure how long, I may have to sell it to cover medical expenses

I could match tiger for a week or so, but I can afford to sustain that level of power draw for long. Hopefully I can sort some things out here and make some more cash so I don't have to losethe farm

I'm sure we could keep it at 4 mil tho if we worked at it

Like most people I'll keep chugging along on what I have; really don't have any $ to buy stuff and give more PPD but I'll hold'er steady and bring up the rear (that's what she said). :D
I do want to pick up another 260 216 SC but I'm waiting on good sale or another price drop (since NE decided to jack their prices up since I bought one 2 months ago for less than what they're going for now).

the prices will keep going up.. they are no longer being produced.. nvidia already EOL'd them..

At least you didn't say less drinking. :D I have MW2 for my 360 and have been doing a lot of the Special Ops missions with one of my kids. Killing Juggernauts is a real PITA.

Picked up one for $165 w/FS a few hours ago (check hot deals or hot deals for folders for a link if you're interested).

I agree...they've jacked up since the NE sale a few months ago. I believe the SC then was $159 after $30 rebate (which of course I never sent in :D). I was hoping for at least some new rebate deal soon for around the same price, then the Dell deal popped up with the coupon today and I bought without even thinking about it. ;) Of course I'd rather pay less, but from a cost/performance PPD standpoint the 260 is a very good buy. I'd rather have a new one also and have a card registered to me instead of constantly eyeing the FS forums for a used card hoping that the seller won't renege on helping out with a future RMA if necessary.
 
Yay for 4 million/pizza/beer!

Cant wait to get my new i7 rig built. Need to keep saving for the rest of the parts though... Nvidia needs to get their new line out asap so I can figure out what I'm doing for a video card. Right now it looks like I'm starting with 1 GTX285 and I'll add more later. Gonna try to turn the rig into a gaming/folding beast. Like I said, I cant wait :D

Vaulter. I have cheap electricity at my place(.0412/kwH). I can't really buy any moar D right now but I could foster some boxen for a while if needed.
 
What the [H]orde should do is find an apartment in Dallas or somewhere that has free electricity and cable.

Then we can all send our boxen to this empty apartment and run our gear for free.
 
Except the cost of rent... not a bad idea though. Id feel bad for whoever was paying the electric bill though :p

Ive seen apts for like $500/mo that include all bills
You get 10 people to split it and run there gear for $50/mo
And you can run unlimited gear.

The gear i have cost me $150/mo run

Because I've had some work over the past few days, I have a bit of money to spend, but given that the GT200 chips are being axed and I don't really want a card based on a chip nearly 4 generations old, and that the new SMP2 and GPU3 clients are coming out, I'll probably wait before deciding how to spend it. It could be that AMD chips suddenly make a huge comeback in terms of folding... :D

Don't know what kind of strides they're making, but given that ATi cards have been poor PPD producers for this long I don't see any reason to really think things will change anytime soon...but again I'd be happy if they did so I could put a spare 4830 to use. :D
 
Dorm rooms would make good foster homes for folding boxen. Although the house I lived in when in college had trouble tripping breakers when too much stuff got connected.
 
Same problem in the barracks, everyone plugging in just laptops was enough to black out the building LOL

As for foster, I'm cutti g the farm back to 75k or so, and I'm selling the microwave (4 gx2's and a 3corecpu)

I'm more of a chicken and dumplings guy.

I make a mean batch of chicken and dumplings from scratch if I do say so myself. And I mean from scratch. Whole raw chicken, make my own broth, dumpling batter and all.

If we can get the Hootananny together I'll make a batch.

Yeah my grandma makes really good chicken and dumplings, that's real good. Can't go wrong with good country food.
